IndralayaCovidGuidelines2022

Dear Indralaya Friends,

Heartfelt greetings))

We hope this note finds you all well and enjoying this summer with many moments of joy.

We are looking forward to our time together at Indralaya and write with some ideas and requests as we plan to gather August 8-13.   One potential delight for our time together is that we scheduled this gathering to coincide with the Perseid meteor showers so do bring gear to sit out – or sleep out – and be warm and cozy during the retreat. We are planning to hold all of our group sessions outdoors and the evenings in particular can get cool, so prepare ahead.

With cases of the new Covid variant rapidly increasing, in the absence of widespread effective individual and social regulation practices, our hope is to proceed with our gathering informed by the best wisdom and compassion we can bring to this, individually and collectively.

Out of kindness, care, and respect for those of us who are coming and who may be more vulnerable to Covid and its potentially enduring impacts, as well as for everyone’s benefit, here are our best ideas at this moment:

– Be especially wise and discerning with your social contacts in the weeks before the retreat to minimize your exposure.

– Wear a well-fitting N95 mask when you are indoors, or in close contact outside, in the weeks prior to the retreat.

– Please take a Covid test just before you come to Indralaya to make sure you test negative before you arrive — and consider bringing another test with you to check again in case you start showing any symptoms while at the retreat.

— We will plan to have all of our program sessions outside – or if there is rain we’ll meet in the very open and well-ventilated “teepee” Pavillion building.

—If possible – please plan to eat outside – and wear a well-fitting N95 mask when you go into the dining hall to get your food.

– If you have been “loose” in your contacts with people before you arrive at the retreat – please be especially cautious and social distance as much as possible once you arrive to care for those who may be more vulnerable.

—We will make some time as a community to check in on our collective needs and agreements for optimizing our joy, health, and well-being during this special time together.

May all be wise and well )))
